Provider Profiles

Meet Edith Asah

Edith Asah has been with NHA since 2022.

“When I decided to start my career in healthcare, I knew I wanted to be a public servant,” she said. “Working at NHA has helped me realize that dream whish ties in NHA’s Mission statement and one of their core values, providing quality care to everyone no matter their financial standing.”

Edith is a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP). She received her associate in nursing from Mercy College; her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Lourdes College; and her Master of Science Degree in nursing (CNP) from the University of Toledo. She has been practicing for five years.

She believes that listening is key to a good provider-patient relationship, and that a patient’s plan of care is developed with their input.

“I want each patient to walk away feeling happy, satisfied, that someone will always be there to listen to them. They should feel free to return or call whenever they have any concerns,” she said.

Meet Lauri Oakes

For more than 41 years, Lauri has been practicing in health care. “I have worked in several settings and with several governmental organizations throughout my career. However, the most rewarding job to me is what I do at NHA every day, with every patient.”

She enjoys working in geriatric care because she enjoys serving the community. More than 17 percent of the current population of the U.S. is 65 and over.

She also gives credit to her team. “The medical assistants that I have worked with have a team focus.  We help each other out to keep patient flow rhythmic.  This allows us to fit people in with unexpected visits while making sure we address everyone’s needs.”

Lauri Oakes is a Certified Adult Geriatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Michigan. She has a master’s degree in business administration from National University in San Diego, and she received her Master of Science in nursing (CNP) from Madonna University in Michigan.
