On September 14, 2019, Sickle Cell Project of Northwest Ohio, will host our annual awareness Walk/5K Run. The year’s event will be held in observance of September, Sickle Cell Awareness Month. Our social media campaign, #SickleCellMatters, encourages participants to share important facts/myths about sickle cell conditions through Facebook, Twitter, etc. and make a donation on our event page listed below. Our annual Walk/5K Run event encourages followers to register individually, form their own team or simply donate. The funds raised from this event will fund our family support services program. You can register and learn more about our event at https://www.eventbrite.com and type Sickle Cell Matters 5K Run/Walk into the search bar.
The walk will be held at Ottawa Park, Toledo from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. Last year we hosted close to 1000 participants and this year our goal is to double the attendance.
